Polyxeni Manoli


Polyxeni Manoli holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a PhD in Applied Linguistics from the department of Early Childhood Education of University of Thessaly. She has taught linguistic courses and English as a Foreign Language in the tertiary education. She is a tutor in the Master Education Program in TESOL at Hellenic Open University. She has participated in the research programmes: Education of Roma children and Designing, developing, and assessing a digital platform aiming to enhance nursery school teachers’ literacy practices at University of Thessaly and in the research programme Exploring reading literacy and self-beliefs in secondary schools in Greece with a focus on immigrant students at Hellenic Open University. She is a member of the Laboratory of Language and Culture of the department of Early Childhood Education at University of Thessaly. She has published in International and Hellenic journals and conference proceedings with a peer review system. Her research interests focus on language learning and teaching, learning strategy instruction, strategic reading, visual literacy and multimodality.
